Research and Publication at an Environmental Law Think Tank: A Range of Steps, Roles and Audience
As a Research and Publications Intern at the Environmental Law Institute, a public interest think tank based in Washington D.C, I worked on a diverse group of projects addressing different environmental issues including: environmental peacebuilding, water quality, urban sustainability, endangered species, and climate change. I worked closely with various environmental attorneys and aided them in different steps of the research and publication process. The different projects constituted research proposals, seminars, conferences, media platform, books, and had a range of audiences including business leaders, environmental lawyers, citizens of Tennessee, development professionals and more. Come listen to me speak to learn about how the audience and purpose of a particular project can affect the research and publication process and about how to engage with supervisors and colleagues to make every step of the process meaningful and successful.
