Do you Dare?!: Interning at Startups in Argentina

Spending my summer in Buenos Aires was most definitely a beautifully challenging experience. I worked at two different startups within my two months there, first at Gorsh, an ecommerce site, and later at MeroArte, an online art gallery. After a month at Gorsh, I was feeling unchallenged and needed to make a change.  Learning how to communicate well with my bosses is one of the most useful skills that I acquired this summer.  With those skills I was able to make a smooth transition from Gorsh into a new role at MeroArte.  I was assigned a web development project at MeroArte, which aligned well with my computer science interests, but also made me nervous, because I'd never done a project like that before on my own.  With my inexperience came an exciting challenge for me to seek out the information that I needed in order to successfully complete my work.  I will be sharing stories about how I found an internship abroad, how I dealt with the challenges that I encountered while there, and how my liberal arts education prepared me to dare to take on projects and opportunities that I had never thought I could.
