Against the Grain: The Practice of Law is What You Make It
I worked for an immigration law office called the Law Office of Rachel Einbund, PC located in New York City. I found my internship when I was flipping through a lesbian magazine and I saw an article about my boss, Rachel Einbund, so I sent her an email and attached my resume. I was fortunate enough to be hired by her. My experience was unique, because it was a solo practice immigration law firm that has an LGBT leaning. While there I learned how to compile evidence for cases, write memorandums, file evidence with the immigration court and assist clients with their immigration needs. The environment was all-female and very relaxed, which is completely different from the stereotypical law office. There is diversity within law, and my experience is a clear example of how the practice of law is what you make it.
