Woman Behind the Camera
I have always had an interest in television, but it wasn’t until I saw a live taping of Saturday Night Live did I know that I wanted to be involved in the fast-paced industry. I had the opportunity to work at FOX5 DC over the summer, with a focus on writing and producing. I quickly discovered that my dream of being a woman behind the scenes, instead of in front of the camera, was an anomaly. During my internship, I had moments of self-doubt that caused me to question my goal of eventually becoming an executive-producer of a national television show. However, after an incredible three months at the news station, I am now more confident than ever in my abilities to succeed in the exciting environment that brings everyone’s favorite programs to life.
