Digital Journalism: How Internet changed media
Data journalism is a type of journalism that specializes in the role of numerical data in producing and distributing information in the digital era. It is different from traditional journalism in the way it expands on the conventional idea of journalism, how information is retrieved traditionally from investigations. In today’s age where the Internet, amongst other technologies, plays a vital role in everyone’s life, data, distilled in numbers and closer speculation of a phenomenon, become an important component in journalism. In my presentation, I will demonstrate the statistical proof of the prevalence of data journalism in new media, the rise of data journalism, and how it will be expanded in the future by different means.
