Freelance Web Design: Not So "Free" After All
The internet as we know it would not be possible without web designers. Information needs to be made not just available but accessible and easy to consume, and it's up to the designers and developers to create websites that capture both the eye and the brain, communicating content while engaging the user. Just like a craftsman uses a set of saws and drills, a web designer has their own array of multi-disciplinary tools and skills which they need to hone before they master their craft. This summer, I was given the chance to explore and develop my own set of web design tools, but as I quickly learned, being your own boss comes with its own set of challenges.
