Networking Your Way through Federal Prisons, the South China Sea and Freshwater Research
The work that a member of Congress does is extensive and varied. They are concerned with issues of global conflict to the everyday needs of their home district and everything in between. This summer as an intern for Congressman Michael Capuano in his district office, I got firsthand experience of the large range of work that congressional office does as I was assigned to complete the background work necessary on everything from the history of issues in the South China Sea to Compassionate Release from Federal Prison to Freshwater Issues in the United States. To add to my experience I connect with different people in and out of the office to learn about their jobs and career paths. Through my networking I have a better understanding of what I need to do now to prepare myself for that career that I want.
