Lunch Time Bonding

What do you do during lunch time when you work at a firm that is as small as mine that only has 4 people?

It's time for information to flow around and it's time for communication.

During my internship at Thomson Econometrics, I was given the task to do surveys among small businesses and individual contractors, making cold calls are inevitable. When people think of the word "cold call", the words that pop up are, hung up, turned down, tedious, etc. It indeed was very challenging work. But the lunch time meeting with my bosses and our office secretary pumped me up everyday. Through them, I realized that there are ways to make your phone calls more effective than others. Modifying the wording of survey questions, changing the order of the questions, listening to the person on the other side of the phone, these are all things I did to keep my cold calling subjects on the line with me. I was not alone. Communicating with my team brought me lots of surprises. The attitude matters.
