Around the World in Eighty Ways - A brighter international education experience

International education is essential for personal growth and for finding one's true identity. Working at Fulbright Belgium under Executive Director and Mount Holyoke alumna Erica Lutes in Brussels was a dream come true for me because it showed me exactly how and why one should pursue a higher education beyond their own country and culture. At Fulbright, I learned ways to associate and truly connect with potential graduate students who wished to study in the US, which, as an international student myself, allowed me to see the bigger picture from both perspectives. In addition to promoting Fulbright at universities, I aided representatives of the US Ambassador to organize the Fourth of July celebration at the US Embassy, and even had the opportunity to read over and scan archived documents, some dating back to the early 1900s! My stay at Fulbright was an exciting and educational one, and it enhanced my public speaking, networking, and communication skills.
