My Funny, Strange and Provocative Summer: Making Plays in New York City

In the world of Theater, there exists the notion of paying one's dues. This is typically in the beginnings of one's career and usually equates to doing work for little to no money. As a Production Assistant on the Summerworks Festival of new plays by Clubbed Thumb in New York City, that’s exactly what I did - and I loved (almost) every second of it. Clubbed Thumb is known for producing “funny, strange and provocative new plays by living American writers,” and I had the opportunity to work on the 2015 Festival including the plays: D Deb Debbie Deborah by Jerry Lieblich, directed by Lee Sunday Evans; Card and Gift by Kate E. Ryan, directed by Ken Rus Schmoll and Men on Boats by Jaclyn Backhaus, directed by Will Davis.
