Uncertain for the Future: Questioning My Intended Career Path

Serving as a summer fellow at the Metropolitan Council on Housing, a non profit organization based in New York City that advocates for tenants rights, wasn't exactly what I expected. I imagined myself gaining knowledge about the human rights sector of the legal field. However, I soon realized that the organization hadn't employed any lawyers but referred clients to private firms or other legal organizations located in the five boroughs. In this position, I dealt primarily with assisting callers on their weekly tenants hotline, wrote articles on housing issues as well as performing administrative tasks. While my experiences in this internship were beneficial, it led me to question my intended career path as well as encouraging me to explore other fields.
