Making People Look Good: my summer as a costume intern
As a costume intern at the Williamstown Theatre Festival, I found out that with many people working towards the same goal, more could get done then I had ever imagined. Our goal was to put on eight shows in eight weeks. Over the past summer, I was able to help work towards this goal as a stitcher, costume crafts assistant, second design assistant, wardrobe assistant, and wardrobe supervisor. While I learned a lot about the different jobs and skills involved with putting on a show, I learned the most about communication within the hierarchy of the theatre that happens off the stage.
