Finding Clarity Far From Home: Narrowing Career Goals in Spain
As an intern at the Center for Cross Cultural Studies, the same Study Abroad program in Sevilla, Spain where I studied abroad in fall 2012, I was exposed to a new lifestyle in a city I love. By speaking Spanish every day and learning from coworkers, I brought home work skills I plan to utilize in my future career. My experience working in the administrative office of an international educational institution this summer confirmed and narrowed my passion to pursue a profession in educational leadership and policy, while it defined and emphasized work setting preferences that I now know are important to surround myself with and seek out in order to be fully engaged and stimulated in my future work endeavors.
