Delivering a Solution

Volunteers offer much more than just their time. They are the gateway to the community and a grassroots source of public relations and marketing. They also help strengthen the organization’s image and credibility in the public eye. Therefore, it is important that this valuable asset is utilized and managed efficiently. This summer, I interned with Hong Kong Committee for UNICEF (HKCU) and my main task was to develop a feasible volunteer management system. I eventually created a volunteer management system model called the Volunteer Management Cycle, comprised of five stages, and wrote a comprehensive guidebook for the professional staff.
