Bison, Bandits, and Bricks: Local History on Orcas Island

My internship with the Orcas Island Historical Society & Museum allowed me to gain firsthand experience working with a small, local institution. I was able to work directly with the curator, creating finding aids and updating collections, as well as performing outreach activities such as writing articles for the website and making a new brochure. The trials and rewards of operating a museum in a rural area with a rich historical background are experiences that I will share with you.
