Business, IT and my Liberal Arts Education
I had not thought about working for an insurance company before my internship. But I was looking forward to real world applications of the concepts I had learnt in class. From the moment I started at Liberty Mutual, the culture of integrity and responsibility was strikingly similar to the culture here in Mount Holyoke. My liberal arts background helped me stay open minded and to learn everything about the business terms and practices and to constantly ask lucid questions. My other observation was how the Business people interacted with the techies. My presentation will focus on the integration of business concepts and IT, the challenges and successes in doing so and how I dealt with them.
