Religion, Reality, and Reassessment
In the ever-changing climate of religion and its intersection with politics, facts are essential to spreading accurate knowledge. At the Public Religion Research Institute (PRRI) in Washington, DC, a non-profit think tank that focuses on the intersection of religion, politics, and public life, I was able to work in both the communication and research departments and take a deeper look at how such knowledge is found and spread through media. In my presentation, I will focus on the discrepancy between my expectations and reality of this internship, and how I used both of these experiences to my advantage to explore my passion for religious tolerance more deeply, while strengthening my writing and problem solving skills in the process.
