Irons in the Fire: The Marketing Cabal
Small advertising agencies often have only a few employees, in order to improve cost efficiency of the business. They hire unpaid interns to pick up the slack- and sometimes much more- that the full-time employees cannot manage. Marketing products to the masses via social media involves many obscure techniques that the public may not be aware of. It is imperative that there be more transparency involved in this process, and there may be ways that the public can protect themselves from further privacy loss. Drawing on personal experience, the elucidation of the workings of advertising agencies will come to light, shot through by a general meditation on expectations of career performance contrasting with reality.
