Curating Community Engagement: Interning at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston

Museums bring art and people together. As one of the premiere art museums in the world, The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (MFA) actively engages in collaborative efforts to build community through arts. Gabriela Ramirez’s internships as an Administrative Intern and a Program Evaluations Intern allowed her to help reinforce the MFA’s position as a vital community resource. Specific projects that Gabriela facilitated, such as audio guide evaluations and an art exhibition, served to promote the MFA Director’s legacy of community outreach and global engagement. In her presentation, Gabriela will not only discuss her direct involvement in the Boston art community, but also how her summer internships contribute to her academic focus and the Mount Holyoke art community.
