Architecture for Educational Change: An Outsiders Perspective
What does it mean to reach out into a new environment and try to make change in it? How can design, especially architecture, be used to change the lives of other people in less privileged societies? As an architecture student who is also interested in the development of low-income communities, Seyiram Torkornoo will be reflecting on her internship with SCALEAfrica, a non-profit design firm that seeks to use design to change the lives of others in less-privileged societies. She will be talking about the different connections and disconnections she discovered whilst working through the eyes of 'the outsider'.
