I will offer an insight into the industry of economic consulting about its role in firms, markets, courts and international authorities. Being only one small slice of the consulting industries, economic consulting has a large presence in a wide array of markets. Experts, economics and analysts work to provide the court economic analysis based on empirical market evidence and with the extensive use of big data. They work on litigation cases involving antitrust, security valuations, class certification and patent disputes. Apple worked with economic consulting firm when it was sued for monopolization. Delta Airlines consulted experts in economic consulting when it was investigated by the Department of Justice for collusion. In this session, an introduction about the various practices and cases in this industry will be given.
