Harambee: One classroom, one Kenya

Classroom experiences vary from regions and contexts. In Kenya, the sharing of available resources, collaborative learning experiences, and the enactment of inclusive education policies strengthen a sense of community in the classroom and beyond. Using findings from a summer research conducted in Kiambu County, this panel will explore how a classroom and classroom experiences serve as unifying factors in a country with 42 ethnic groups and different political ideologies. This panel will also explore how classroom experiences shape national identity among Kenyans.
