"I've seen your byline before!" Interning with the Daily Hampshire Gazette
What does it mean to go, "doorstopping?" This summer I while interning with the Daily Hampshire Gazette, I wrote several articles, conducted interviews, and even drove out in my car to knock on an unsuspecting person's door, in hopes of speaking with them. During my time with the Gazette, I was expected to make phone calls, to conduct interviews, drive to different houses to conduct interviews, and even stay in the office by myself to answer any questions people who walked in may have had. My internship required a lot of independence, time management, and quickly taught me how to put on a professional front when speaking with people. My internship was everything I could have asked for and more, offering me first hand experience in the journalism world.
