Working on the Hill

As a political science minor, I wanted to dive into the political sphere and get a taste of what it is like to be and work on Capitol Hill. As a result I spent this summer as a Congressional Intern for one of the House Representatives of the state of Connecticut. During the course of my internship I was able to experience the stressful and demanding environment our representatives and senators are constantly dealing with on a daily basis. By engaging with Connecticut constituents, whether through telephone, email or even in person, I was able to comprehensively get a sense of the wide varieties of opinions within my state and grasp opposing concepts constituents had about current legislation.
