An Exploration of the Arts

Rose Donahue pursued a life in the arts this summer by working as an intern at Four Eleven Gallery and as a stage manager for Peregrine Theater Ensemble during their rendition of "RENT" in Provincetown, Massachusetts. She explored aspects of both visual and performing arts in her endeavors. The beginning of her summer was focused on work in the gallery, which included tasks like hanging shows and assisting patrons during the day. As the summer progressed she decided to explore additional opportunities and found a welcoming and appreciative community in the theater. There, she managed props, set pieces, and people, while also coordinating with lights and sound to prepare for the show each night. Being involved in two creative avenues provided Rose with the opportunity to compare and contrast her interests in the arts and with this experience she is confident in her decision to pursue a profession in the theater.
