Bridging Theory and Industry: Insights into Psychological Research Models and Technologies Guiding Complex Organizations
This summer, I achieved my goals of gaining exposure into the innovative, business side of the research field by interning with Core Complexity Assessments, a startup company which uses behavioral and cognitive insights to guide employers in hiring processes and organizational structure. CCA is based at Dare Institute and Harvard Medical School, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, but founded upon 30 years of previous psychological studies and insights based on the Model of Hierarchical Complexity. Being at the early stages of the start up, I worked with the site launch and interface, giving feedback on assessments, presenting the model to team members and writing blog posts. Additionally, I participated in the 30th Symposium of Adult Development, presenting a study on online dating matching. Beyond that, I gained insight into how a theoretical model which determines the complexity levels of a behavior can be cross-cultural and cross-species valid.
