Communicating Within Creative Culture
We have so much to learn from one another, if we are only willing to communicate and listen. What are the unique ways in which the arts approach communication? How can communication be tailored to a variety of audiences? And how can one arts organization create conversation in its larger community? These questions filled my mind and informed my actions during my time at The Complex Performing Arts Centre. Working within the balance between administration, creativity, and education, I witnessed first-hand the multitude of opportunities for (and challenges to) communication the interdisciplinary arts create. Moreover, I experienced the gentle back-and-forth that exists between the arts and the community at large.
