Partnership and Information Gaps
Communication - a process of understanding and sharing meaning that we, as individuals, and even larger groups such as organizations and countries, engage in in our daily lives. It is one of the most important tools in the world, helping us build new relationships that lead to success and innovation through cooperation. We can define communication as progression; on the other hand, miscommunication is stagnation, or even, regression. With miscommunication, organizations encounter internal conflicts and fail to follow through on their mission statement. Moreover, in the case of organizations for social justice, miscommunication can hinder and cause the loss of opportunities for many disadvantaged individuals in society.
This summer, I interned at the Hospitality School of Ho Chi Minh City as a marketing intern. I had the opportunity to resolve miscommunication between the school and its main donor, analyze and propose marketing strategies that promote the school’s image among its prospective employers and students, and build key relationships with other highly-reputable educational institutes in the city.
