Learning to Be Flexible
In my time at Mount Holyoke, I have worked with Think Outside the Bottle (TOTB), a student-led environmental organization that advocates for public water systems and challenges the misleading marketing of the bottled-water industry. This summer I was given the opportunity to intern at Corporate Accountability International (CAI), the non-profit organization that oversees TOTB. I worked with CAI’s National Water campaign as an organizer. At my internship, I collaborated with a team of fellow student activists to phone bank, petition, and help Superintendents of National Parks go bottled water free. My work at CAI required a lot of personal and professional flexibility, as organizing plans often shifted. Despite this challenge, delegation and communication helped me balance my responsibilities. This semester, I am continuing my work with TOTB at Mount Holyoke as a student leader.
