From Academia to Action: Human Rights in Theory and in Practice

As an international relations major passionate about human rights and writing, Anjelica had the opportunity to be the Communications Intern at the Global Justice Center. Before interning, she had various preconceptions about the NGO world and what her zest for social change would look like when translated into the Global Justice Center’s lower Manhattan office setting. While her academic background prepared her well, she learned more than she could have ever imagined about domestic and international politics, the writing process, and the day-to-day and long-term operations of an NGO. In this panel, Anjelica will reflect upon her experiences and discuss how interning at the Global Justice Center will impact her future plans.
