Bus Transportation

Please see www.fivecolleges.edu/bus where you will find info on the fare-free Five College bus system. Here is a video about riding the bus.

There are regularly scheduled buses running from Mount Holyoke to Smith every day, Monday through Friday, with many scheduled to drop students on campus 10 minutes before the start of classes and pick them up about 10 minutes after the end of classes.

Students can use a combination of the Bus 39 route between Smith and Hampshire and the Bus 38 route running from UMass to Amherst, Hampshire, and Mount Holyoke.

In addition, the R29 service running down Route 116 between UMass and Holyoke connects directly to the Holyoke Mall. Please note that a fare is required for services outside of the 5-College system. Fare information, maps and schedules can be found at the Pioneer Valley Transit Authority (PVTA) webpage.

Students can also find more information about off-campus MHC shuttles on the Fleet Services website.
