Greater Holyoke Chamber of Commerce: The Power of Perseverance

For Fall 2013, I will intern at the Greater Holyoke Chamber of Commerce in Holyoke, Massachusetts. This organization acts as a representative to the local business community. My professional experience is different from my fellow panelists because I am completing this during the academic year. I will share my struggles in securing an internship and how perseverance led me to this wonderful opportunity. My title is Project Coordinator, which means I help plan, develop, and execute different events for the Chamber. I will walk you through the internship search process, my responsibilities, and expectations. Working at the Chamber of Commerce is teaching me how small business owners interact with each other and how they can expand their customer base.
