Kevin McCaffrey

Director of Government Affairs and Community Relations

Kevin McCaffrey is the Director of Government and Community Relations in the Office of Advancement.

Within the Office of Advancement, McCaffrey is charged with developing and leading a government and community relations program that builds relationships and implements mutually beneficial programs with local leaders, businesses, community groups, and schools. He also works to build effective relationships and programs for the College on the regional, statewide, and national levels.

He is currently the lead on The Women in Public Service Project— a collaboration among the Seven Sisters and the State Department aimed at developing more women leaders in government and politics in the U.S. and internationally.

McCaffrey previously served as associate director in the Office of Communications, responsible for media relations, Web-based news delivery, and other areas. Before coming to Mount Holyoke, he worked as a neighborhood newspaper reporter in Boston and, from 1987 through 1993, as a public relations officer at Boston City Hall. He holds a B.A. from Bowdoin College and is a member of the Public Relations Society of America, Counselors to Higher Education section. His daughter, Elizabeth is a 2010 Mount Holyoke alumna.
